Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) is a postoperative treatment method designed to aid recovery after joint surgery. Following joint surgery, joint motion causes pain and as a result, the patient fails to move the joint. Using a motorized device to very gradually move the joint, accelerates recovery time by decreasing soft tissue stiffness, increasing comfortable range of motion, promoting healing, and preventing the development of scar tissue. The CPM moves the joint through a defined range of motion for an extended period of time. Patients using CPM devices have less pain, edema and adhesion formation. SYMKA, Inc provides CPM’s for the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle and toes.

Our line of compression therapies includes the AV Impulse Foot Pump, Game Ready, The VitalWrap System and Jobst Sequential Compression Devices.

The Game Ready System simultaneously delivers both adjustable cold therapy and intermittent compression, making it easy to apply the two most difficult-to-manage aspects of the RICE regimen.

The VitalWrap System delivers a unique combination of heating, cooling, and compression therapies in one convenient device, providing drug-free pain relief for arthritis, chronic pain, sprains, strains, inflammation, and post-surgical recovery.

The AV Impulse Foot Pump(AVI) is designed to artificially stimulate the venous plantar plexus (the large vein located in the foot) to increase blood circulation. Unlike other sequential compression machines, which stimulate the blood by compression on the calves or thighs of the patients, the AVI is designed to mimic the natural effects of walking on blood circulation in the feet and legs.  For patients who have chronic venous insufficiency, peripheral neuropathy, diabetic ulcers, and/or other conditions that cause circulatory or lymphatic issues, the AV Impulse foot pump increases circulation by improving both arterial and venous flow in the lower and upper extremities thus preventing or improving these conditions. The AVI more effectively prevents deep venous thrombosis and reduces pain and edema.
